Forest Garden Transylvania - A Permaculture Wilderness Centre
Welcome to our Workshops

'Harvesting Water in the Landscape'
You will learn how to survey the contours of the landscape and use swales and ditches to harvest and hold water in land with the excavation of a large bio diverse pond.
Inspiration for sustainable living and Eco building
will also be included in this
    5 day - 6 night  workshop.

This will be a 'hands on' week where everyone is involved, which will also include informative films, discussions, demonstrations, good vegetarian food and a fun time together !
You will experience living completely 'off grid' in the beautiful hand crafted main building at 'Forest garden'. Set within this intact Eco system of amazing diversity where we work with nature, not against it...
The design of a pond is very important for a healthy Eco system and an enhanced environment. Using the correct design enhances water quality, and the plants will flourish, and fish and other wildlife will thrive.

You will learn how to survey the contours of the land and use swales and ditches to harvest and hold water in a landscape. We will clear and mark out the areas for excavation and we will have an experienced digger driver and his machine come in to excavate this third large pond at 'Forest garden'.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Bedding is provided Two persons per room.
Our water is limited, collected from the roof and a well in the garden. The drinking water is from a local spring, and our electricity is generated from solar panels.
We do not have unlimited supplies, please don't expect en-suit facilities!

The food is vegetarian and prepared by a very good vegan cook, Arpi, who is also  happy to share his knowledge.

Nicolette and Janos will be your workshop facilitators.
Janos is a very experienced builder and in more recent years has specialized in Eco building and enthusiastically shares this passion.  more info.....
